Background

A delegation from the Swedish Embassy was undertaking a two-week UK tour, visiting eight locations from Brighton to Belfast. The delegation comprised the Swedish Ambassador to the UK and Embassy and Government representatives.

One of the stops chosen was Cambridge for two reasons: it is the global headquarters for AstraZeneca which was celebrating the 20th anniversary of the merger of Astra and Zeneca and Cambridge University has the highest number of Nobel Prize winners among its former students.

Brief

Marika Amartey, from the Export & Trade Promotion and Policy Department at the Swedish Embassy, said: “We needed a suitable space to accommodate in excess of 100 people for our one-hour lecture. This was an open University event that was also publicised through Eventbrite.

“Our contacts at AstraZeneca put us in touch with Meet Cambridge to help us identify a suitable and available space at short notice. The service was very helpful and saved so much time, enabling us to access all the venue information in one go.

Event

“We chose WYNG Gardens at Trinity Hall which had a room that was ideal for us and incorporated all the AV equipment we required.

“Everything went very smoothly and we had good communication with the team at Trinity Hall, both before and on the day itself.

Feedback

“The event was very successful and met our brief in terms of visiting Cambridge, one of the world’s leading centres for life sciences. The team at Trinity Hall was professional and easy to work with, helping to make this a memorable stop on our UK tour.”
