The Fellows' Building was constructed in 1640 - 1644 and gives access to the Fellows' Garden where we often hold drinks receptions.

The Hall, one of the finest amongst the Cambridge Colleges, dates from 1857-1879 with fine stained glass panels, making it a unique historic setting for lunch, dinner or a banquet. There is seating for up to one hundred and ten delegates in the main body of the room and a further twenty can be seated in the gallery above. It can also be used for buffet/receptions for groups of up to one hundred fifty
Whilst the Hall is a stunning setting in daylight, its true beauty can be fully appreciated in the evening with candlelit tables and soft lighting.

Old Combination Room

Founded by Lady Margaret Beaufort, mother of Henry VII in 1505, Christ’s College is a picturesque college in the very heart of Cambridge city centre. As a conference venue it offers an attractive and stimulating environment for that perfect meeting.

With a wide range of flexible rooms, both modern and traditional there is something to meet everyone’s requirements. Capacity ranging from 10 to 120 delegates, the College is suitable for both smaller and larger events.

Offering a mix of modern en-suite rooms as well standard rooms, outside term time, guests can enjoy the unique charm and atmosphere of College life.

Christ's College prides itself on its traditional and varied menus. Our dedicated and experienced catering team are on hand to ensure your event is an outstanding success. The beautifully panelled Hall can cater for up to 110 people, a magnificent room for that special occasion. For that smaller more intimate luncheon or dinner why not book the Portrait Room, seating up to 20 people, or the stunning Old Combination Room seating up to 38 people.

Christ's College Accommodation

Accommodation is provided for up to 234 delegates in study bedrooms of which 124 are en suite rooms. All other accommodation has shared facilities on a ratio of up to 12 delegates per bathroom.

Rooms are centrally heated, and bed linen is provided, all rooms have duvets, bath and hand towels as well as a complimentary welcome pack of toiletries. Tea and coffee making facilities are provided in each room and replenished daily.

These single en-suite rooms have a 'pod' style bathroom. There are 64 of these rooms in New Court

Green Initiatives

  1. Proud to have achieved being awarded a Green Impact Award.
  2. Full English breakfast for guests has been built around sourcing produce from local suppliers.
  3. An active recycling scheme in college, cardboard, bottles and paper. All are sorted before collection.
  4. Having successfully reduced packaging by bulk buying essentials, removing individual packets from cereals, jams and sauces therefore reducing landfill waste.

Did You Know?

  1. Within the College grounds is one of the oldest swimming pools in Cambridge and the country.
  2. Christ's College has one of the first renaissance buildings in the UK, the Fellows' Building in Second Court.
  3. In celebration of the bicentenary of Charles Darwin's birth there is a specially commissioned bronze in the Darwin garden.
  4. Legend has it that John Milton planted a 'black' mulberry tree, located in the Fellows' Garden, it still bares fruit.
