Events At The Union

Home to the oldest debating society in the world, The Cambridge Union Society is a stunning Victorian Gothic building set in the heart of the historic city centre close to public transport and a great selection of city based hotels and accomodation.

The venue has a wide range of rooms on offer for meetings, conferences, corporate launches, weddings, private parties and more. The beautiful spaces are suitable for small meetings of 12 people to large conferences of 300.

All spaces are flexible with natural daylight, free WiFi, modern technical facilities and breakout space for your refreshments.

With an onsite bar and cafe, The Cambridge Union Society can provide a full event experience with friendly and professional service.

The Union also has a preferred list of local catering companies selected for their ability to adapt and can turn their talents to almost anything so if there is something that you have to have, just ask.

The Orator provides buffet lunches, tea and coffee's perfect for presentations and meetings and also offers a wide range of local craft beers and delicious wines for your evening networking event or party.

Did You Know?

  1. Cambridge Union Society is the oldest continuously running debating society in the world.
  2. The Union is legally a self-funded charity that owns and has control over its buildings in the Cambridge city centre.
  3. When bombed during WWII, the library was significantly damaged and some of the older books still display visible shrapnel wounds.
  4. Famous within the University for having a long, complicated constitution; a quick count puts the old constitution at 31,309 words!
