King’s College has extended its conference, events and catering team with the addition of three new members of staff who will be responsible for the College’s new bar and coffee shop operations.
These spacious areas are situated next to the College’s impressive and historic Hall; both areas will be available to organisers for future events.
Ben Thurbon, who hails from the theatre industry will lead the new team. With a strong hospitality and events background, Ben said: “I’m looking forward to providing exceptional service in what is such a welcoming environment. The opportunity to open a wonderful new space in this prestigious and supportive institution is a real privilege.”
Ben has been joined by Food and Beverage Assistants, Andoni Amaro and Jack Scrivener. Andoni has a broad range of experience gained in both Starbucks and The Ivy. He said: “I’m hugely enthusiastic about excellent coffee and I’m looking forward to developing and providing an exciting range of beverages both for the College community and for guests joining us for conferences and events.”
Jack completes the team and brings with him a wealth of experience in pubs and bars. Having spent his childhood in Spain he is fluent in Castellano, he said: “I’m passionate about wine, beer and spirits and very much looking forward to creating interesting and delicious drinks inspired by my Mediterranean influences.”
