The conference and meetings bureau for Cambridge and the surrounding area was invited to join the MeetEngland pavilion for one of the leading industry events of the year, held at ExCel recently.

Meet Cambridge was selected to showcase its portfolio of venues and their suitability for a wide range of events including residential conferences, one day meetings and private dining, as well as the unique experiences the city can offer to visitors.

Twenty event planners met with the Meet Cambridge team to explore options for their clients’ events, many looking for locations outside the UK’s largest cities which could deliver a different and memorable occasion.

Judith Sloane, Head of Meet Cambridge said: “We were delighted to accept MeetEngland’s invitation to join them for the tenth edition of The Meetings Show. Cambridge was definitely a popular destination for the buyers visiting the pavilion who discussed a range of events, including group incentive visits, dinners and residential conferences.

“Venues able to meet sustainability criteria were also of major interest which highlighted the growing importance of CSR credentials now demanded by many organisations.”

Other destinations on the pavilion were VisitYork, Sheffield Convention Bureau, Visit Hull & East Yorkshire and Experience Oxfordshire.
