We’re always here to help you locate that perfect venue; in the first of our newest blog series Venues Close To…we’ve been out and about at the city’s key sites to see what choice is available for meeting facilities. To begin, we’ve considered the venues closest to Cambridge’s hospital complex.

Addenbrooke's Hospital and Biomedical Campus

The Addenbrooke's Hospital and Biomedical Campus is a 35-minute walk to or from the train station or regular buses take just 10 minutes. The walk from Addenbrooke's from or to the city centre is around a 50-minute walk, or regular buses take just 20 to 30 minutes. If you need a venue close by here are a few options:

  • Homerton College – a 20-minute walk or a four-minute drive from Addenbrooke's Hospital/Biomedical Campus

Situated on Hills Road and with free parking on site, the College is popular with organisations who need to be close to the train station and the hospital complex. It has invested in an extensive range of conference facilities, tailored to meet the specific needs of conferences and training seminars.

It offers a mix of traditional and modern facilities and caters for a wide range of functions, including residential conferences, meetings, away days and weddings, providing a first-class hospitality service.

  • The Cass Centre – a 40-minute walk or an 11-minute drive from Addenbrooke's Hospital/Biomedical Campus

Quietly tucked away in secluded, private grounds, the Cass Centre stands on the site of Cambridge University Press, the oldest printing and publishing house in the world. Its contemporary facilities are perfect for business meetings, conferences, exhibitions, team-building days and corporate social events. The extensive grounds offer excellent sports facilities for use too, including an all-weather, floodlit AstroTurf surface suitable for tennis and five-aside football as well as an immaculate bowling green and cricket pitch.

  • Tamburlaine – a 35-minute walk or a 10-minute drive from Addenbrooke's Hospital/Biomedical Campus

Cambridge’s newest hotel, Tamburlaine, is filled with local character. It offers spacious, flexible meeting rooms, elegant guest bedrooms and suites. The Library is a quirky shared area which overlooks the lobby area. A carved, marble bar is the centrepiece of the hotel’s popular brasserie-style dining room and its Garden Room is perfect for quiet, informal or one-to-one meetings.
