The College's mix of traditional and modern buildings present a friendly professional atmosphere in a tranquil setting with up-to-date conference facilities. Located just ten minutes from the centre of Cambridge, Lucy Cavendish is an ideal location for conferences offering excellent facilities, affordable prices and a dedicated and friendly conference team.

To complement the meeting rooms and excellent catering provision, facilities are also on offer for organisers to host residential programmes in the most beautiful surroundings, from the end of June to the end of September.

Whether conference-style buffet lunch, banquet style gala dinner, wedding, celebratory event, informal buffet or small private lunch or dinner, the College's professional team of chefs provide an excellent standard using fresh local produce and ingredients when possible tailored to suit the occasion.

Lucy Cavendish accommodation is situated in its own picturesque gardens consisting of three beautiful houses, built near the beginning of the 20th century, and four modern buildings. This gives a combination of the intimate atmosphere of domestic Victorian architecture with the advantages of modern, up-to-date buildings.

Study bedroom complete with desk, toiletry pack and towels, a great option for conference accommodation. Study bedroom with complimentary tolietry pack and towels provided.

Green Initiatives

  1. The College is proudly a Refill Station, keeping Cambridge hydrated and helping to prevent plastic pollution.
  2. No fish from the Marine Conservation Society's 'fish to avoid' list is served.
  3. Eco cleaning products are used throughout the College.
  4. Takeaway plates and cutlery made of plastic/polystyrene have been phased out and replaced by compostable products.

  1. Lucy Cavendish College Library was opened by HM Queen Margarethe II of Denmark in 2000 and has approximately 30,000 books.
  2. The Lucy Cavendish Fiction Prize has resulted in over 20 bestsellers, including Gail Honeyman's 'Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fines'
  3. 3 of our 4 guinea pigs are named by the students after feminist heroes including Virguinea Woolf and Emmeline Squeakhurst.
  4. The Anglo Saxon Herb Garden was established in 1987 with herbs that were in use prior to 1066.
