Chef Tristan Welch to launch elevated al fresco dining concept ‘Tea On the Terrace’ with views of the iconic Parker’s Piece, exclusively for two weekends in May
Parker’s Tavern, housed in Cambridge’s most historic hotel University Arms, is taking its much-loved afternoon tea to new heights with an exclusive outdoor dining concept, Tea On The Terrace. With Chef Tristan Welch at the helm, the pop-up concept will be available to book over two weekends in May and will allow guests to dine on the terraces of the hotel’s iconic suites, overlooking one of the city’s most famous greens Parker’s Piece. In true Parker’s Tavern style, the afternoon tea menu celebrates seasonal, locally sourced ingredients with playful twists on traditional afternoon tea dishes. Tristan and the team have created a unique menu of savoury and sweet treats, not forgetting Parker’s renowned freshly baked scones. The savoury selection includes sandwiches with distinctive fillings such as Cucumber and Dill and Smoked Coronation Chicken, as well as a Truffle Sausage Roll and Crayfish and Dill In Pastry Boats (inspired by the iconic Oxford vs. Cambridge boat race). Those with a sweet-tooth will relish the Parker’s Ferrero Rocher, Eton Mess P’T Style and of course Chef T’s house-made chocolate and sea salt truffles and the scones will be served with gin and raspberry jam. Guests can enjoy the delicious menu in the sun, while admiring the picturesque views, sipping champagne or a warming tea or coffee.
