A Cambridge College is unveiling its innovative new facilities for corporate entertaining – both during the Summer months and for Christmas celebrations. For the first time, Gonville & Caius College is offering Summer Garden Parties and Christmas Joiner Parties at its exciting new events space, Acropolis At Caius.
Located in the attractive gardens of the College’s West Road site in the heart of the city, Acropolis At Caius is a sophisticated 2,150 sq ft marquee structure which will be available from July 2019 for a 15-month period whilst some of the College’s kitchen and dining facilities around the Old Courts Main Hall undergo a major refurbishment programme.
Named Acropolis for its intriguing architectural shape and multiple glass sides around its linked hexagonal structures, the events space will provide outdoor views into the gardens mirroring the open aspect of the ancient citadel located above the city of Athens. Up to 140 can be seated on round tables for dinner, up to 100 cabaret style and 180 theatre style.
It is ideal for Summer Garden Parties and also Christmas Joiner Parties for smaller companies and organisations looking to celebrate the festive season but not large enough to host their own event. Eve Stupart, Conference Manager at Gonville & Caius said: “Launching our new events space is an exciting initiative and enables us to offer Summer Parties with the surrounding gardens providing a perfect backdrop for drinks receptions and outdoor events.
Later in the year, Acropolis At Caius will be a stunning and novel setting for Christmas Parties, both private events and Joiner Party Nights which have been difficult to find in recent years. “We are particularly excited that we will be able to accommodate large dinners seated on round tables – up to 140 people in total – which can be a challenge in Cambridge.” For Christmas, the Joiner Party Nights in December will include arrival drinks, three course festive menu, disco and fun photo booth for £49.95 per person.
Adjacent Caius buildings include the Cavonius Conference Centre, together with vacation period residential facilities of 174 rooms in Harvey Court and The Stephen Hawking Building with a mix of single, double, and twin bedrooms for party guests wishing to stay overnight.
