Venue-finding and Marketing Executive – Meet Cambridge

Full-time Post: 37.5 hours per week

£25,138 per annum plus 25 days holiday and Bank Holidays

Established in 1998, Meet Cambridge is the conference and events bureau for the city of Cambridge.  The organisation, funded by the Cambridge Colleges, has a membership of 53 venues and offers a suite of services to conference and event organisers.

Due to continued growth, we are now seeking a special person to join our busy, friendly and collaborative team as our new Venue-finding and Marketing Executive.

The position is based in central Cambridge with an option to work from home one day per week.

The role

At Meet Cambridge, each day brings fresh challenges and exciting opportunities and broadly your role will include:

  • Handling and processing event enquiries.
  • Liaising with clients and staff at our member venues.
  • Maintaining an accurate database.
  • Coordinating and attending site inspections, events and FAM (Familiarisation) trips.
  • Contributing to and supporting our destination marketing activity.
  • Developing your knowledge about Cambridge and its venues.

The successful candidate will also benefit from a company pension scheme, and the opportunity to opt into Medicash, our healthcare benefit plan.

You

We need a creative and self-motivated individual. Ideally, you will have previous experience in venue sourcing and an understanding of the events industry coupled with a desire to provide exacting standards in customer service.

This role requires high attention to detail and an excellent command of the English language, both spoken and written.  You should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities, and if you have a comprehensive knowledge of Cambridge, all the better!

Experience in a marketing role, particularly in destination marketing, would be advantageous but equally essential to us would be your desire and eagerness to learn.

Whilst we do organise our own events occasionally, this role is not an event management role so you should be comfortable with being office-based where you will largely handle new enquiries from event organisers who are searching for venues for their future events.

How to apply

Further details about the role can be found in the Job Description, which can be downloaded from the link below.  If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us: enquiries@meet-cambridge.com or call +44(0) 1223 768740.
